Big Rig Power develops, sells and installs advanced and proven products that bring new levels of economy and performance to heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment.

You can expect fuel savings of 10 – 15% along with better reliability and increased horsepower. With our state-of-the-art custom programming, Big Rig Power brings our extensive trucking background to a hands-on, heads-up commitment to your bottom line.

Your newer diesel engine is complicated and requires the knowledge and technology to analyze your engine’s problem and then fine tune it. Present emissions technology has not delivered on its promises. Engines burn more fuel to compensate for inefficient emissions systems and trucks suffer from a lack of power, decreased reliability and increased down time along with higher maintenance costs and severe drive-ability issues. The solution is to remove the emissions systems and properly tune the vehicle’s engine.

All our tuning is done directly from our head office with no need for third party support. We have the engineers and technicians on hand to get you back on the road right away. We can do these emission deletes at our 10 bay diesel shop or tune your ECM remotely and ship you all the necessary parts to eliminate your emission problems. We send these components overnight to where you need them along with clear and simple step by step instructions.

Our tuning experts are just a phone call away with all the help you need to quickly and easily download your custom tune. Whatever and wherever the job, you’ll always have what you need to keep your truck running including advice from our tuning experts if required.

We have a lifetime guarantee on all our tuning. We will re-tune and tweak tunes for the life of the truck and will return your truck to stock with no charge for the tuning*.

Why the need to Delete

DPF Delete

The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) in your diesel engine is a device designed to collect diesel particulate matter or soot from the exhaust gas and is the number 1 source of diesel engine downtime. When the filter gets clogged, it triggers a regeneration cycle. This cycle floods the catalytic converter full of diesel fuel and then ignites the fuel to burn off the trapped soot. This greatly reduces power and decreases driveability. Even worse, excessive soot backs up into the turbo and without frequent and expensive mandatory maintenance damage will result. Eventually, the DPF will have to be replaced at considerable cost. The DPF is responsible for poor economy, reduced power, contaminated engine lubricants and greater maintenance.

DPF Problems:

  • Excessive regeneration cycles
  • Clogged and cracked DPF Filters
  • High cleaning and replacement costs
  • Reduced power/limp mode in PTO
  • VGT actuator and turbo damage

EGR Delete

Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) is a nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions reduction process used in diesel engines. EGR provides no performance benefit to the diesel engines. It can be removed with no ill effects to make your diesel engine will run better.

EGR works by recirculating a portion of the exhaust gas back to the cylinders. Intermixing the incoming air with recirculated exhaust gas dilutes the mix with inert gas, lowering the adiabatic flame temperature and reducing the amount of excess oxygen. The exhaust gas also increases the specific heat capacity of the mix, lowering the peak combustion temperature. Deleting the EGR blocks off the exhaust gas return port to prevent exhaust gases from re-entering the engine.

Eliminating the EGR is intended to:

  • Create better running diesel engine
  • Create better/more low end power
  • Reduce black smoke emission
  • Increase engine efficiency therefore lowering fuel consumption

DEF Delete

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology uses a catalyst system to break down the Nitrous Oxide emissions produced by diesel engines into nitrogen and water. The chemical reactions used in SCR systems require a constant feed of ammonia gas which is delivered using Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). The DEF catalyst is a solution consisting of urea and deionized water. This is sprayed into the exhaust stream through an advanced injection system and then converted into ammonia. By removing the catalyst and emptying the tank, you have fewer instances of de-rate while saving on expensive DEF purchases.

Recognizing DEFness

  • DEF requires an extra heated tank, results in a heavier truck and requires drivers to routinely fill it up.
  • Recalls on bad SCR Catalysts and supply line defaults are common.
  • SCR trucks are more expensive. They’re heavier and more complicated and don’t allow engine manufacturers to tune the system the way they want to.
  • Historically, urea and DEF alike have been somewhat volatile in pricing terms.
  • The supply and sales infrastructure for DEF might not be ready to meet current demands.
  • At certain temperatures, the DEF liquid will crystallize, plug the line and send your truck into de-rate.
